When the black steel gates were placed on the white stone façade, I fell in love with their dignity and the way their expression changed with the angles and time. At the same time, we are impressed by the scene that goes beyond what we had imagined while we were building it, and beyond what we understood when the finishing touches were actually applied on site. The key to this project was the symmetry between the white rock surface and the blackness of the steel, and the choice of very slender components to create a finish that is both strong and dignified. We have a particular taste for modern Japanese taste, and we have experience, but we are always careful with new projects to avoid any discrepancies in the image. The result is not known until the last minute, but we also go to preview similar properties and buildings for study purposes. We consider it a kind of training to always have a concrete image of the materials and the finished product.
The smartness that steel brings
Steel finished in matt and black is smart. Of course, it depends on the thickness, but the thinner and thinner it is, the more it stands out, the more it can bring a smart look to a space. At the same time, the hardness of steel helps to create a solid and dignified appearance. This makes it suitable for use in areas where robustness is required while at the same time producing smartness and dignity. However, joints can be ruined by a rough finish. AICHI METAL can achieve a finish on the joints that looks as if it is made of steel and steel, thanks to the application of woodworking techniques. It was difficult to master this technique, and it took many years to arrive at this idea. Ideas for sheet metal processing in the construction sector inevitably don’t get very far outside the sector. It is therefore much more difficult than we imagined to expand our R&D horizons to areas outside ourselves.
Picturesque beauty for railings
In larger properties, even gates and, moreover, railings will be close to an accessory. However, black in chalk asserts itself more than one might imagine and complements the white. The shape of the railing is simple and therefore difficult to achieve, which is why the presence of the railing when installed was so strongly convincing. This type of railing requires an ingenious way of bending thin steel in a parallel direction to create strength and a beautiful joint surface. The joint surface between the foot and the handrail section is a completely invisible part, but of course it has been treated to ensure that the welding surface is not visible when you look into it. We have put all our efforts into building a railing that is small but has a big presence.
