VeroMetal Livery
*Photographs differ from the actual delivery. For example, there are requests for a single metal in a specified colour, and by using VeroMetal it is possible to produce a colour that is as close as possible to this specified colour. However, this requires a tremendous amount of samples and therefore costs more. This does not mean that production is difficult. First, the material is determined and then the colour is added to it. After receiving a request, we generally discuss the features we want to add based on the metal colour. The colour is then added by mixing the VeroMetal with reference to these characteristics. The challenge is after the coating has been applied: as VeroMetal is metal itself, it will change over time, even if it has undergone a colour fixing treatment (anti-corrosion treatment). The most important thing is to produce the colour in anticipation of this change over time.
“Elegant colouring” in metallic colours
In this case, we were commissioned by a high street brand that does business globally. For the first time in the world, they created a bar space in their shop and used a 5 m long curved metal component for the tableware shelves. For a global brand, branding regulations are crucial in determining the global image strategy. Therefore, strict colouring of the metal components was also required. After the metal had been coloured to meet the colouring specifications of the design using the method described above, it was now time to add a hairline as a decorative treatment. The direction and length of the hairline were also specified – the cost per m2 of VeroMetal can be quite expensive, depending on the material. Hairlining once the colour has been applied is always a strain, but the experienced and skilled craftsmen were able to clear this up.
Delivery and on-site installation
Now, the sizing of the component is 5 m. Then, not only transport, but also delivery is a major challenge. In fact, the component did not enter through the entrance. Moreover, the surfaces are very delicate, so we want to take as many safety measures as practicable. So we brought it in by crane truck from where the window was to be installed on the second floor. We of course also carry out the installation work on site. Our on-site installation is carried out in a uniquely detailed manner to ensure that the metal components last longer. For example, we carefully use the most suitable materials, from the groundwork for the installation of the components to the jigs used for installation. We hope that the new metal components will also last longer and bring new joy to as many people as possible.
