OVERVIEW

Technology Case Study

Stone & Metal.

The compatibility of stone and metal is probably due, of course, to the fact that metals exist as ores in nature. However, metals that undergo man-made processes to transform themselves into industrial metals boast overwhelmingly more durable performance. This is the work of man. When refined materials are turned into stairs, metal can play multiple roles, from frame to design. However, metal alone still gives a rugged impression. Painting is an effective means, but if it becomes a kind of decoration, the cost will jump. Therefore, the impression value changes dramatically when stone or wood is used as a set. This change in expression is really interesting. In this project, artificial marble is used as a tread, and the metal frame supports the fragility of the stone material and at the same time accentuates the design.

Linear form

The distinctive feature of this project is its linear form. The fact that the entire structure is composed of lines rather than surfaces has the effect of diluting the sense of weight and oppression. The space, which is a little too narrow to accommodate a staircase, is boldly utilized. Although the construction of the components looks simple, a certain level of strength is required for joints and other parts, so a detailed quality check is essential here as well. This type of work looks simple but requires careful installation. Because construction work is carried out in parallel, the time available for staircase installation is short and always fraught with tension. However, the weight of the components themselves is heavy, and if space is limited, the greatest fear is accidents, as the installation is done by hand and steady. We are always looking for the best solution to minimize problems based on our knowledge of stairs and construction.

Safety and Reliability

As a result, the primary requirement for stairs and house components is design, but an even more important prerequisite for all of them is safety. The sense of fear that people feel is extraordinary, especially if they do not feel a sense of absolute trust in the staircase. Sometimes this is because they are high up, and sometimes it is because they think they are going to fall. The fact that Aichi Metal takes on the entire process, from component processing to installation, is a sign of our commitment to thoroughly pursue safety in this area. Of course, this is no easy task. In fact, it is fair to say that there is only tension. Even so, making metal components for construction is only possible if people feel a sense of reliability. We will continue to face this obvious yet most difficult task with honesty and sincerity.
