When the black steel gate was placed on the white stone facade, I fell in love with its dignity and its expression that changes with the angles and time. At the same time, when the finishing touches are actually applied on site, I am moved by a scene that transcends what I had imagined while creating it and what I had understood. The key to this project was the symmetry between the white rock surface and the blackness of the steel, and the choice of slender components to create a finish that is both strong and dignified. We have a particular taste for modern Japanese taste, and we have experience in this area, but with any new project, we are always careful to avoid any discrepancies in our image. Although we don't know the outcome until the last minute, we always go to preview similar properties and buildings to study them as well. We consider it a kind of training to always have a concrete image of the materials and the finished product.
The smartness that steel brings.
Steel finished in matte and black is smart. Of course, it depends on the thickness, but the thinner and thinner it is, the more sleek it can bring to a space. At the same time, the hardness of steel helps to create a sense of solidity and massiveness. This makes it suitable for use in areas where robustness is required while simultaneously producing smartness and dignity. However, a rough finish on the joints will ruin them. AICHI METAL is able to achieve a finish on the joints that looks as if it were assembled from steel and steel by applying woodworking techniques. It was difficult to master this technique, and it took many years to arrive at this idea. Ideas for sheet metal fabrication in the architectural field inevitably do not come easily from within the field. Therefore, it is much more difficult than we imagined to expand our research and development to areas outside of our own.
The railing also has a picturesque beauty.
In larger properties, even gates, and even more so, railings would be more like an accessory. However, black in chalk asserts itself more than one might imagine and complements the white. The shape of the railing is simple and therefore difficult to understand, which is why the presence of the railing when installed was so convincing. This type of railing requires a creative way to create strength and a beautiful joint surface while bending thin steel in a parallel direction. The joint surface between the foot and the handrail portion is a completely invisible part, but of course it has been treated well so that the welded surface will not be visible when you look into it. We put all our efforts into constructing a railing that is small but has a large presence.
